Five Points
Five Points is one of Denver’s oldest historic neighborhoods and is adjacent to downtown Denver’s central business district. Named Five Points because Washington St., 27th St., 26th Ave., and Welton St. all converge to create 5 points. The Rossonian is located on one of the points, at Welton St. and 27th St.
Five Points has a long history of jazz– The Rossonian Hotel and Lounge once hosted jazz greats such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Nat King Cole, George Shearing and Dinah Washington.
Five points has some of the most detailed Queen Anne Victorian homes to see around Denver– They are charming and full of character inside and out. Homeowners take much pride in restoring their detailed history. In recent years, there has been a surge of residential development in the way of new contemporary duplexes or townhomes popping up.
The RTD Light Rail runs along Welton St., almost like a tour of all the quaint small local businesses located along the street. Five Points, reaches out to include other small neighborhoods such as San Rafael, Curtis Park and Ballpark.
